Our first batch of monthly stats are ready, and they look great.

One of the main goals of PhishTank is to provide the community with timely phishing statistics. If you searched for comprehensive, accurate October 2006 phishing stats yesterday, chances are you’d have come up empy handed. Or with August or September 2006 stats, which are good, but hardly current. It was for this reason that we worked hard to get the October stats on the site asap. (Some of the phishes represented in the Oct. stats are still online. That’s fast.)

We’ll do our best to get November stats up on the site on Dec. 1, but I figure for our first go-round, three days into the following month ain’t bad.

Aaron built some awesome graphics to depict the numbers, including my personal favorite – the world map.

We’re interested to know – Are you surprised by any of the stats? Is there anything we left out, that you’re curious about? Are we clear about how we arrived at these numbers?
