A fresh batch of PhishTank stats

Marking our fifth phish-fighting month, February 2007 stats are live. The upgrades made to PhishTank in January are paying off: the community was fast in February.
Now that there are several months of PhishTank stats on record, it’s fun to look back at the early days. In October, there were 2,400 community members. Not bad for our first month, but it pales in comparison to the more than 13,000 strong we have now. October saw just over 7,000 submissions. Again, a very impressive start, but nothing like the 25,000 we had last month.
It’s clear. PhishTank works.

I think someone should use open data offered by phishtank to find common trends, which directories get hacked to plant phish.html, what are the servers running (especially php) and the common tricks used by phishers to offer httpS: protocol, e.g. abuse of eBay’s own servers to forward user to phish page as seen at: http://www.phishtank.com/phish_detail.php?phish_id=116823
To be up-to-date we implemented our real-time Phishing statistics.

our database has all phishes from the Tank and all Phishes out of our managed anti-spam Service clean mx.
We thinks this is the most comprehensive data available world-wide !
Abusedesks around the world are using this now to get a sneak overview of their networks.
This database has two goals:
1) to provide on-the-fly statitics.
2) to inform abuse accounts all over the world from whats up in their networks.
3) to track movements of Phishsites.
