PhishTank.com domain glitch

The phishtank.com registration expired today. We had set it up to renew last week but we didn’t put enough money in our registrar’s account. The renewal never went through. This morning it expired and we quickly fixed the mistake. We’re a bit embarrassed, and we’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.

For OpenDNS users, we used http://cache.opendns.com/ (CacheCheck) to push out the changes ASAP.

PhishTank.com is now registered through March 2009.

   Actually, according to whois:phishtank.com it says that you guys only have the domain till 2008, not 2009. Might want to fix that.

   Looks like they have fixed it, set to expire on 23 March 2009.

   Why only renew for a year? Year after year? Most registrars allow 10 year or longer renewals?
